Living fruitfully
Homecomingand returning to what matters most !
“It’s a blessing to be here - to gather with the people you love the most in the places that feel like home. And it’s fleeting. It holds gravity. Because no matter how mundane you think today is - how expected and average it feels, it will pass. One day, everything that is will no longer be. You’ll look back and realize the best of the times weren’t the big moments, but all the little ones seized. All the unexpected laughs and the times spent together. Be urgent in your days and notice that even in the smallest of moments, there’s something really special there.”
-Sammy JoWhy Homecoming?Growing up, I couldn’t wait to leave my hometown - a town of less than 1,000 people, with no stoplight or a grocery store in sight. That is, until I left.
There’s something special about a place where there is nothing to do and nothing to see. A place people don’t travel to or often even know. It’s quiet, and simple, and expected. Its charm is in its boredom.
A trait I thought was rather common was the ability to invite yourself - to create the occasion. When you have nothing to do and nowhere to be, it’s a skill you pick up rather quickly: making something out of nothing.
Somewhere along the way, I’ve watched the world stop doing just that. It’s so easy to be entertained by things that drain you. It’s so easy to sit and do nothing and feel exhausted from it.
Homecoming is your inspiration to get up and invite yourself. To wear the clothes that get you to do the things you’ve always wanted to (and feel and look your best!). To cook dinner for your friends. To gather with your family. And to make the everyday something special - an event!
It’s time for your homecoming - to lead a fruitful life and return to what matters most: your family, your home, and your faith.
Kindly & With Love,
Sammy Jo
